Here at Cooking Vinyl we like to keep abreast of all the new developments in the music industry, particularly the really big issues that impact us all.
However, even when we think we’ve got a good handle on what’s happening changes occur so quickly in our business that it’s hard to make time to sit down and really think about the implications.
With that in mind we have decided to curate a number of panel discussions over the next few months, which we are simply calling ‘The Future of ….” sessions.
Taking place at The Hospital Club in Covent Garden on a monthly basis we are getting the smartest people we know to talk about the future of some key areas of the industry.
“The Future of …” sessions are invite only and will, we hope, provide some clear thinking and real insight into where our industry is going from experts in their respective fields.
Moderated by Music Business Worldwide Founder Tim Ingham our panel is: Tim Clark (i.e:music), Jon Webster (Music Managers Forum), Rob Collins (Cooking Vinyl Records), Lemar (recording artist), Martha Kinn (Machine Management) and David Manders (Liquid Management)
How do managers and labels measure an artist's success differently?
What is the best way to create a sustainable career for an artist?
Do management companies still need labels? How have their roles changed?
Are digital service exclusives a danger to labels and artists?
What is the best balance managers should find between live performance, recording, and selling albums?
