CHICAGO — An unidentified naked man rampaging through a suburban neighborhood prompted police to tase him in the street in order to subdue him.
The evening of July 24, witnesses say they initially saw the man rolling around in the middle of the street, just outside an elementary school. The man then allegedly began yelling profanities at people in the area, and eventually stripped off his clothes. He then went around to random houses and started breaking windows. He was also seen smashing car windows in.
When the police arrived on scene, a female officer warned the naked man to get down on the ground, but instead, he ran right at them. Her taser at the ready, the officer discharged her weapon and the man fell to the ground, rolling naked by the curb. As more cops showed up, the man managed to get to his feet, possibly to continue his rampage. But before he could make a move, he was hit with the stun gun again.
Earlier reports suggested the man had chopped off his member amidst all the chaos, but Chicago Police insist his only injury was a laceration to the hand, which he got from punching it through a window. Following the incident, the man was put through a mental evaluation at a local hospital.
