Jeppe's story Part 13
From the Danish TV comedy-drama series, Rita (S2 E05) - Grounded
Jeppe and David are shopping with Rita at the grocery store when they bump into David’s parents. When introducing herself, Rita makes a comment about the boys’ relationship and refers to herself as David’s mother-in-law. David is horrified - he has not yet told his parents that he is gay! Proverbial s**t and fan, yeah right! Jeppe doesn’t want her to interfere but, in an effort to make things right, Rita invites David and his parents to dinner so they can talk about it as sensible adults. Rita apologises for being so blunt in the store, but it’s to no avail. David’s parents have decided that he and Jeppe can’t see each other any more. They are grounding David because they feel he needs to focus on his homework and education, and has no room for a boyfriend. Later, Rasmus talks with Jeppe and tries to comfort him. He says that, if Jeppe loves David, he should man up and fight for him. So the next day, Jeppe goes round to David’s house and tells his parents that he’s not going to stop seeing David.
