President Trump's sons are pushing back on the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and possible collusion with their father’s campaign.
In a recent interview with ABC News, Eric Trump called the probe, “the greatest hoax of all time, “ and said, “I was there throughout the campaign. We have no dealings in Russia. We have no projects in Russia. We have nothing to do with Russia."
Donald Trump Jr. echoed his father’s frequent comments on the matter, saying, “To me it's without a question. It reads and smells like a witch hunt."
Their statements come just days before James Comey, the former FBI director fired by President Trump, is set to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee.
Though the Senate investigation has not yet produced evidence of collusion, top committee Democrat Mark Warner did tell CNN, “Listen, there’s a lot of smoke. We have no smoking gun at this point. But there is a lot of smoke.”
It, of course, is unknown at this time if Comey will provide any key missing links between the Trump campaign and Russia. Meanwhile, Russia’s leader continues to insist that there are none to be found.
In an interview with NBC’s Megyn Kelly, Vladimir Putin rejected all suggestions of election interference by his government, and said the allegations being made by Democrats, “[remind] me of anti-Semitism. A stupid man who can’t do anything right would blame everything on the Jews.”
