In the "good ole days", the word snack was once thought of as a healthy, energizing means for children to fuel up. However, new research purports the recommended daily allowance of sugar to be 24 grams. Snacks and beverages packed with sugar have taken over, bringing with it excess weight gain , overproduction of insulin, (storing the calories as fat), and children who are never satiated, always wanting more and more sugar. No parent would serve his or her child beer or wine, but according to researchers, the negative effects of sugar have similar effects on your child's body (including weight gain and obesity). These effects have begun to pop up more and more well before children reach adulthood.
