Fun and occasionally dangerous. Health officials say that playground-related brain injuries rose at an alarming rate in the United States over the last decade. All, in spite of movements towards playground safety and design such as the prohibition of certain games, like dodgeball and changing playground materials. In the last decade, emergency rooms recorded 21,000 playground-related traumatic brain injuries on average per year, among children 14 and younger.
