Death sentence for drug smuggler

A Burmese drug smuggler and three members of his gang have been sentenced to death in southwestern China on Tuesday. They were convicted of murdering 13 Chinese sailors on the Mekong River. Chief suspect Naw Kham was extradited to China by Lao officials in May, pleaded guilty to killing the Chinese crews last year in the "Golden Triangle". The region is where the borders of Laos, Burma and Thailand meet and is renowned for drug smuggling.
