WASHINGTON, D.C. — Video footage posted on Twitter shows a Washington, D.C cop manhandling woman who he accused of being a prostitute. However, she said she was a school teacher.
Twitter users were appalled at the footage, which shows the officer pinning a woman to his police vehicle in a manner that her legs dangled helplessly in the air.
The woman said she was 32 years old and a school teacher. After a little discussion, the officer and his partner then seem apologetic, and even hand the woman her textbook when she drops it on the ground.
The woman was ultimately not arrested.
Afterward, the woman, identified only as Shadon, said, “Either way you look at it, it’s harassment. I’m a schoolteacher, I work out here and I help these little girls all day, every day so there’s no reason for you to assume that somebody out here doing the wrong thing.”
Police are currently investigating the incident.
