Defne Ayas shares with us the connections between goddess culture, our contemporary lived experience and our ancestors. Ayas introduces us to a group of fascinating Goddesses, from early Egyptian civilization to forgotten pre-Islamic Arab goddesses found in art and literature. Goddesses, Ayas shows, reveal many of the most fundamental archetypes of women’s universal experiences around the world.

Split between Shanghai and New York, Defne Ayas works as a director of programs to Arthub Asia, multi-disciplinary organization devoted to contemporary art creation in China and rest of Asia, and as an art history professor at New York University in Shanghai.
