Leg injuries are very serious matters among equine animals, but thanks to a prosthetic hoof, a miniature horse named Shine has gotten a new lease on life.

Leg injuries are very serious matters among equine animals, but thanks to a prosthetic hoof, a miniature horse named Shine has gotten a new lease on life. 
In late December, Shine was found with a badly damaged and bloody leg, believed to be the result of a dog attack.
While the horse underwent two months of professionally guided care, owner Jacque Corsentino consulted another doctor about alternatives to help advance his recovery.
That inquiry led to the veterinary department at Colorado State University.
