Sarah was euthanized at fifteen years of age because her quality of life was diminishing, according to the zoo officials.
Originally making her way to the zoo at the tender age of six weeks, Sarah was hand-raised by a human and was one of the first baby cheetahs to be brought up with a puppy companion. That practice is commonplace today.
