DALE CITY, VIRGINIA — Police have reached the conclusion that the death of two teenagers in Woodbridge, Virginia, was a murder-suicide, the Washington Post reported.

On Oct. 23, Indya Davis and Lyle Ferringer, both 17, went to Dawson Park together.

According to police, it is inside Ferringer's minivan that Davis pulled out a knife and stabbed her ex-boyfriend to death before using it to kill herself.

The bodies were found the next day by a park ranger. The teenagers were pronounced dead at the scene after police arrived, forced the minivan's locked doors open and found them unresponsive.

The Washington Post reported that Davis's mother said Ferringer had told his daughter he was seeing another girl and that she was devastated by the news.

Police said that since both teenagers were dead, it was impossible to establish with certainty the motive behind the murder-suicide.
