Guatemala: Despite Widespread Calls, President Refuses to Resign

Embattled Guatemalan President Otto Perez Molina declared yesterday that he would not resign, despite calls for his impeachment from the United Nations investigating committee, the government, and civil society. In the prerecorded televised address, Perez also denied any involvement in the massive corruption scandal that has already resulted in the arrest on Friday of former vice president Roxana Baldeti and the resignation of seven members of the presidential cabinet. teleSUR
