Taco Bell is trying to appeal to a more health conscious public… or maybe just to people who hate bread, because their testing out burritos in bowls.
The Famous Burrito Bowls (available at select Taco Bell locations in Charlotte, North Carolina) are just like a burrito without any of the convenience of being hand held. If you’re conscious of carbs I suppose it’s better to forgo the tortilla, but since they’re still filled with things like rice and potatoes they certainly aren’t carb free.
We’re not really sure what the purpose of the Famous Burrito Bowls is or who exactly Taco Bell is trying to appeal to. If you’re actually looking to diet these burrito bowls are not a salad, just burrito ingredients shoved together in a bowl, and it’s still Taco Bell so do with that what you will. If you’re looking for fast food a burrito is way easier to eat on the run. I guess the Taco Bell craving gluten free crowd should rejoice because that’s the only group we can think of that might find this appealing.
