Kellogg wants to be less fake so they’re throwing away the press on nails and hair extensions, no wait they’re actually removing artificial colors and flavors.

It seems like Kellogg got the message that people are trying to eat healthier so instead of making an effort to make their food better for you they decided to make some changes that will have more of an effect on labeling than on actual content.

The plan is to entirely stop using artificial flavors and colors by 2018 but don’t be fooled because natural flavors and colors are still made in a lab. So don’t worry, you’ll have just as many ingredients that have been extracted, altered, and injected into your food to add color and flavor. And in case you’re wondering, there will be just as much sugar in your cereal as there has been so your dessert… I mean your breakfast is safe.

Do terms like “all natural” and “no artificial colors or flavors” influence your shopping choices? What’s your favorite cereal from Kellogg? Do you care where your cereal flavoring actually comes from? Why will it take until 2018 to get rid of the artificial colors and flavors?
