PRESENTED BY GABRIELA GASTELUMENDI

Submarino is the brainchild of Esteban Bertarelli, and has existed, in one way or another, since 2006. Its current incarnation has been playing together since 2013, and its conformed by Mauricio Pandzic on drums, Fernando Casanova on trombone, Bronto Montano on bass and Kevin Muguerza on guitars. Lucas Stiglich and Diego Cendra, from Los Zapping, and María José Jordan, of Herzchenschmerzchen have helped both live and in the studio.

Submarino is part of the collective Faro Discos, and has released three singles: Homesickness, La Noche Triste and Henry Kissinger. The first two are melancholic indie pop songs, while the third one branches into noise and shoegazy territory.

The band has already finished its first album, Bravo Zulu, recorded and mixed between Lima and Barcelona. The album, which will see its release shortly, it’s a departure from its indie pop sound, with psychedelia and noise taking a more prominent role.
