Lost Landscape
Artist Jo Na-ra's unique exhibition featuring embroidered images of her private life was recently held. She expresses the meaning of multilayered human relationships by transforming the thoughts and memories of the things she has observed into images. The artist doesn't necessarily put together the memories of one incident, but each one of them is rather a scene from one specific day. Moreover, Jo chooses to focus on the unexposed back rather than what is visible and even goes beyond the boundaries of the canvas. Through her artworks, she exposes another side of reality that we didn't want to show clearly, but couldn't hide ? perhaps our true selves.

Performance
Shinsi ? the Celebration of the Sun
The dance performance "Shinsi ? the Celebration of the Sun" was produced to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Korea's independence. The myth of Dangun, the legendary founder of Korea's first kingdom Gojoseon, along with the history and culture of the ancient times are depicted in this performance. Due to the lack of official resources, the costumes and props were made on the basis of China's Hongshan culture, which is considered the same period as that of Dangun. With extravagant, spectacular elements, some 50 dancers show dynamic and intense dance and the duet dance performed by Hwanung and Ungnyeo, the father and mother of Dangun, expresses peace and love. Announcing the birth of a new Korea that will exist for the next 5,000 years, "Shinsi" heightens the pride of both Korean people and Korean culture.
