Licorice is one of those candy treats that some people love, some people hate. But in the great land of Finland, they try to tip the love-hate ratio by thoroughly salting their licorice with ammonium chloride, making a polarizing candy even more divisive! Good job, Finland!

Thanks to everyone who bought T-Shirts, we could make two new episodes - if more people buy, we can make more episodes! http://teespring.com/wwyet

Salmiakki probably started as a cough remedy, but thanks to steadfast national pride, Salmiakki is now a popular treat across Northern Europe. It comes in a huge variety of flavors, and is even the subject of national Salty Licorice Associations.

What crazy, disgusting, or smelly foods would you like to see us eat on the show? Have you tried Salmiakki yourself? What did you think? Would you like to keep it your mouth for 60 seconds? Do you think Georgia will benefit from the expectorant properties of Ammonium Chloride?

On Why Would You Eat That? we scour the globe for the most bizarre foods and explain why anyone would be crazy enough to eat them. You'll be shocked to see how one man's trash can actually be another man's delicacy. Don't forget to subscribe to Tasted, support us on Patreon, so we can keep these episodes a-comin’!
