The 2016 Jaguar XF was unveiled in an epic way on Tuesday. The stunt is thought to be the first high-wire crossing over London's iconic River Thames.

The man behind the wheel was Hollywood stuntman, Jim Dowdall. The sleek-looking car traveled slowly and steadily across the cables and soon enough it had made it to the other side.

Jaguar says the high-water crossing was meant to exhibit how lightweight the model is. Compared to earlier editions, the latest XF sedan is more than 130 pounds lighter on the rear-drive version and 265 pounds lighter on the all-wheel-drive vehicles.

The car is constructed mostly out of aluminum and according to the company, CO2 emissions will be less than rival models from Audi and BMW. The wheelbase of the second generation 2016 Jaguar XF has been expanded by about two inches.
