Guatemala: TV Maya grows, even though left out of government funding

Guatemala's multicultural channel, TV Maya, was created to promote the identity of the country's four ethnic groups and make indigenous culture more visible. The station has found a simple way to bring its signal to six municipalities in the Quiche Department, even though it has been left out of government funding. Technically the channel is serving the majority population, but this year they received a budget of only US$15,000 dollars from the state. teleSUR.
