00:00The European Union has given Ukraine 4.2 billion euros to help support Ukraine's recovery in
00:08the face of Russia's aggression.
00:11It marks the first payment that was made under the Ukraine facility, a four-year plan in
00:15which the EU will provide up to 50 billion euros in grants and loans.
00:21The EU said that they are not involved in Ukraine's military offensive in Russia, but
00:25note that they support Ukraine's right to defend itself.
00:29The European Union is not involved and is not commenting on the operational developments
00:34on the front line.
00:36We are fully standing behind Ukraine's legitimate exercise of its inherent right for self-defence
00:46and efforts to restore its territorial integrity and sovereignty and to push back and fight
00:52the illegal aggression by Russia.
00:54It comes after Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged the incursion into Russia
00:59for the first time.
01:02In a video message, Zelensky says the military operation in the Kursk region is an attempt
01:07to stop Russian shelling.
