Paraguay: justice demanded for victims of Curuguaty massacre

Civil society organizations in Paraguay concluded a campaign where they collected and presented 37,500 signatures to President Horacio Cartes. The demands are that youth from Marina Kue be granted the right to the state-owned lands. Two and a half years ago, police officers evicted close to 50 peasant farmers who had been occupying the land. The operation turned into a violent confrontation, in which 11 peasants and six policemen were killed. teleSUR
