WEB USERS SHOW SUPPORT FOR DALLAS NURSE WITH EBOLA
Over 60 000 dollars has been raised in just two days on the « Go Fund Me » platform, to help Nina Pham, the 26 year old American nurse who contracted the Ebola Haemorrhagic Fever virus in Texas last week, while caring for a patient. 1 200 people have contributed to the campaign, hoping enough will be raised to ensure she receives adequate medical treatment.
In addition to donations, web users have also been posting messages to social networks, hailing the nurse`s dedication and bravery. Nina Pham is being held up as a true heroine on Twitter, someone who put her own life in danger to try and save somebody else’s. There are countless posts praising such rare professionalism.
And although the overriding concern in the U.S. is over Nina Pham`s condition, some have also voiced fears over what will happen to the nurse`s pet dog Bentley, now in quarantine in a Dallas facility, where animal service representatives say he is doing well, but could benefit from a bit of support while waiting to be reunited with his owner. And so another crowdfunding page has been set up to raise money to pay for equipment and medication to make Bentley as comfortable as possible during his time away from home…
