Cats have a very special place in their owner’s hearts. Draven Rodriguez from Schenectady, New York is one such cat lover. A photo of him holding his cat will appear in his high school yearbook. In the image he’s standing alongside the principal and her pet.

He originally wanted a picture that shows just him cradling the cat in front of a background of lasers, to be used as his official picture the yearbook. However, things didn’t exactly go that way.

In early September, a school district spokeswoman noted that his unique photo wasn’t an acceptable image for the senior portrait section.

After he gained supporters online, school officials and Rodriguez came to an agreement. Rodriguez noted “The school and I have worked out a compromise we're all happy with. It'll be in there, just not in the senior section.”

Instead of just him and the feline, a new photo will appear on the principal’s page. That image features Rodriguez, his cat, school principal Diane Wilkinson and her pooch all together, posing in front of lasers.
