Remember when we brought you the story of Burger King Japan’s new black burger? Us too. Burger King apparently forgot, because they’ve decided to do it again.
Burger King Japan recently launched their Kuro Diamond and Kuro Pearl Burgers. While that might sound like two new editions of Pokemon, they are brand-new black burgers that not only feature black buns, they feature black cheese as well. We’re guessing they’ve named it “Kuro Burger” instead of “bottom of a bachelor’s deli drawer” burger for marketing purposes. Clever!
The black color in the buns and cheese comes from an infusion of bamboo charcoal (Yum, I guess?), and the sauce is infused with squid ink of some sort. The Kuro Diamond burger is given some color with the addition of lettuce and tomatoes and stuff, but the Kuro pearl is just a black bun, brown patty, and black cheese. For people on that newfangled monochromatic diet, which we’re pretty sure is a thing.
