The Internet truly is the source of all that is good in innovation and progress. For the Internet has found a new way to make a giant version of that most glorious of carb-delivery systems, the pancake. We love you, Internet. Subscribe: http://goo.gl/Z7lbS

This innovation comes to you from — wait for it — Japan. And for good reason! Seems that if you put ordinary pancake batter in one of those fancy Japanese "fuzzy logic" rice cookers, you'll get a pancake cake. Er - a pancake the size and shape of a cake. A cake made of pancake. You get the idea. The point is - you can make an entire batch of pancakes all at the same time, and you can even set your machine to go overnight, incredibly making pancakes into a make-ahead food.

It's pretty darned easy, but you DO need a Japanese style rice cooker to get the desired effect. So, if you don't have one of those $100 gizmos already, it's up to you whether the investment is worth it at this point.
