As reported by People magazine, Clooney recently said, “I met my lovely bride-to-be here in Italy, whom I will be marrying in a couple of weeks, in Venice, of all places.”
Clooney made the statement while accepting a humanitarian award at a charity event in Florence.
The couple got engaged earlier this year in April and since then, rumors have been circulating about when and where the two will tie the knot. Last month, Clooney and Alamuddin registered their union at Chelsea Old Town Hall in London.
The upcoming ceremony will make Clooney a second time hubby. It will be the first marriage for Alamuddin.
The wedding news is surprising to many Clooney fans as the actor said for years that he would never marry again after the divorce from his first wife, Talia Balsam.
