Daiquiris aren't just alcohol-laced fruit juice... Nikki Sunseri shows Ti a version that's not some fruity fruity entry-level cocktail. Instead, she's bringing tomatoes beyond Bloody Mary world, and into the world of classic cocktails. Subscribe: http://goo.gl/Z7lbS
Nikki learned this cocktail from Jeffrey Morgenthaler up in Portland. The classic daiquiri is a gimlet made with rum (rum, lime juice, and sugar/simple syrup). But, rum pairs really nicely with fruit, and tomatoes are fruit. If you still think tomatoes are vegetables, the fact that this drink works is proof that you're wrong!
If you want to experience this not-so-fruity daiquiri, you'll need:
2-3 dashes Angostura Bitters
1 oz lime juice
1 oz simple syrup
2 oz rum
1 oz tomato juice
little tomatoes for garnish
Are you going to serve up this botanical lesson at your next gathering? What other new and unexpected flavor combinations would you like to see Nikki make? What's the most unexpectedly good cocktail you've ever had? What's the WORST daiquiri flavor you've seen on a menu?
