A futuristic warship, simply called ‘Ghost’ is attracting quite a bit of attention. It bears a resemblance to the F-117 Nighthawk, but the difference is that Ghost is designed to cruise on the water.

The craft is 60-feet long and features a pair of 2,000 horsepower engines. The 38-foot hull is derived from stainless steel and aluminum.

It has a 26 hundred pound, 2-inch thick ballistic windshield. The wings are detachable so it can fit on an aircraft for easier transport. Ghost can reach speeds up to about 60 miles per hour thanks to counter-rotating propellers creating an effect known as supercavitation.

The design incorporates serrated edges on the skis that help the craft easily cut through sea debris. Ghost can be controlled by a three person crew, but if necessary it could be operated without any humans onboard.

Instead, the vessel can be maneuvered by a remote control on a nearby ship. The craft is nonmagnetic, making it hard to find using sonar.

Ghost was created by Juliet Marine Systems. CEO Gregory Sancoff states “You can listen to cell phone conversations, you can monitor what’s going on, you can launch operations and leave, and no one knows you’re there.”

Thus far, the company has invested $15 million into the project.
