Miley Cyrus fans in the Dominican Republic will either have to travel to see her perform live or enjoy her music from the comfort of their own homes. The government commission that oversees public shows recently banned a scheduled September 13th Miley Cyrus concert.

In many cities across the world, event venues will be jam packed when Miley Cyrus steps on stage. Fans in the Dominican Republic, however, will either have to travel to see her perform live or enjoy her music from the comfort of their own homes.

The government commission that oversees public shows recently banned a scheduled September 13th Miley Cyrus concert. The reasoning behind the ban pertains to issues of morality.

In a statement, the commission noted that Cyrus “undertakes acts that go against morals and customs, which are punishable by Dominican law.” The timing of the announcement isn’t the greatest.

Tickets have been on sale for the performance since July. The prices ranged from a little under $30 to over $350 bucks.

The concert was part of her Bangerz world tour which has shown her wearing a cannabis printed leotard. She’s also simulated make believe oral sex on a Bill Clinton lookalike.

Cyrus has previously smoked pot on stage which is illegal in the Dominican Republic. What do you think of the government commission’s decision to ban the performance?
