Experiencing the Alpine Skiing World Cup with Longines

Longines has a long tradition tied to alpine skiing and upholds its relationship, today as the Official Timekeeper of the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup. In tandem with the FIS Men's Giant Slalom in Val d'Isere, France this year, Longines hosted the 'Inaugural Longines Futures Ski Champions' in collaboration with FIS. The competition challenged fourteen elite skiers under the age of sixteen down the Face de Bellevarde, a world-class ski run often raced by professional FIS Skiers such as the Longines ambassador, Aksel Lund Svindal from Norway or Bode Miller and Ted Ligety from the USA. Each skier sped down the mountain twice in a Giant Slalom style run surrounded by the stunning peaks of the French Alps. In total, the participants represented 14 different countries. Croatia's William Vukelic finished first with a time of 1:14:50 followed by French skier Jérémier Lagier only 0.08 seconds behind and Semyel Bissig from Switzerland who finished third, 0.64 behind.
