During BaselWorld 2014, iW sat down with Rob Peterman, Hermès Vice President of Timepieces Division to discuss the new Dressage L'heure Masquée.
Hermès continues to wax poetic when making wristwatches. The Hermès 2014 time to dream watch, Dressage L'heure Masquée, allows the wearer to choose whether or not to reveal the hour at home and in a second time zone.
This arrangement recalls very early clocks and pocket watches (pre-17th century), which were portable versions of the single hands seen on the dials of early clock towers.
We can assume that at that time no one needed to be anywhere that required timing to the minute. While technology soon made more precise timing possible, it's fair to say individuals felt far less rushed centuries ago than we do today.
