A store clerk in Milford, Connecticut is lucky to be alive following an armed robbery. The crime occurred at approximately 11 p.m. on Monday.

The Quick Food Mart staffer, Jehan Zeb, was approached by the robber while he was working behind the counter. The armed suspect demanded money from Zeb and fired two rounds, one of which struck the clerk in the leg.

While the gun was pointed at his forehead, Zeb opened the register. Right after, he charged at the suspect and wrestled with him to take the firearm away.

Zeb was able to do just that and once the gun was in his hands, the robber fled from the store without getting any money. It was at that moment Zeb noticed he had been shot in the leg and spotted blood pooling in his shoe.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment and has since been released. Zeb is now recovering at home.

The firearm used in the robbery has been handed over to police, who are searching for the suspect. Detectives are now asking the public for tips in identifying him.
