With summer in full swing, there’s nothing like hitting the waves on a personal water craft but after awhile they all tend to look the same. Until now. The Strand Craft V8 Wet Rod is a unique design for anyone who loves cruising on the water’s surface.

The streamlined, modern-looking craft is 16 feet long and it bears a slight resemblance to a jet ski, only it’s a lot more luxurious. The V8 Wet Rod comes with a bunch of extra options including an engine chrome kit, wood or carbon inlays, custom paint and wrapping, sound system and even a GPS navigator.

Stock features are an ice box located under the seat and a waterproof luggage container. The V8 Wet Rod is constructed of carbon fiber and epoxy, which makes it very lightweight and helps riders handle it easily.

The 300-hp 5.7-liter V8-engine allows them to blast across the water and through the waves at speeds up to 65 miles per hour. Yacht designer Kurt Strand is responsible for the unique craft.

Currently still under development, and presumably aimed at the luxury yacht market as a tender, it is a little beyond the price of the average personal watercraft. But for those who can afford the reported $49,000 price tag, it looks to be a fun option for water enthusiasts everywhere.
