Andy Milovich is an exceptionally brave man. The general manager of the minor league Myrtle Beach Pelicans recently offered to undergo a prostate exam in front of a fan packed stadium.
Milovich said he will take part in the examination while singing ‘Take Me Out to the Ball Game’ if a local little girl with brain cancer receives 10 thousand likes on her Facebook page prior to the start of Thursday’s game.
This past year, the Pelicans have been involved in a number of ‘Stand Up To Cancer’ initiatives. Thursday is going to be prostate cancer awareness day.
A reporter asked Milovich if he would have a prostate exam in front of everyone. Thinking quickly, the general manager agreed to having it done if 10-year-old Fallon Emery’s Facebook page got more attention.
Thus far she’s gotten over 95 hundred likes so Milovich may very well have to undergo the public check-up.
Milovich remarked “I'll likely do it from our radio booth and the fans will see me from the shoulder up.. If what we do saves a kid from having to lose his or her father because they get checked out, this will be worth it.”
