Budweiser Reveals Its Ingredients

For decades, many beer drinkers have wanted to know what’s inside bottles of Budweiser and Bud Light. Anheuser-Busch however, has declined to reveal the ingredient’s in their popular drinks, until recently that is.

The decision to do so is thanks to a popular food blogger, Vani Hari, who launched an online petition requesting two major brewers release what’s inside their beers. Hari pointed out people are made aware of what’s in soda and even household cleaners, so they should be informed what their alcoholic beverages are derived from.

Within 24 hours, the petition had garnered over 40 thousand signatures. It seems as though executives at Anheuser-Busch were keeping track of it, as a list of ingredients was made public right away.

Both regular Budweiser and Bud Light contain only five ingredients – barley malt, rice, yeast, water and hops, although beer Hari later typed a note that read “It's pretty amazing that making your voice heard can change the policies of a multibillion-dollar company overnight.”

On the very same day the Budweiser ingredients hit the internet, MillerCoors released the components of Miller Lite and several of their most popular beers on their Facebook page although many of the comments posted in response are demanding further information. Both companies reportedly plan to release the ingredients of their other beer brands in the coming days.
