Molecular gastronomy isn't limited to just food, as Dave Arnold and his other science driven mixologists are out to prove. Dave takes a simple Gin & Juice and elevates it to a mad scientist level that would make Bill Nye the Science Guy proud. Experimenting in a science lab in New York City's Chinatown before transferring the successful experiments to the bar, they not only innovate with the flavors and cocktails, they create new techniques and technology that allow them to create new and crazier things! They even carbonate their own drinks. This Gin & Juice might not be the one that Snoop Dogg rolled with, though we like to think that he might have if someone gave him an array of chemical agents, a centrifuge, and some liquid nitrogen!
What did you think of this nerd-tastic science cocktail? Would you give this a shot if you were out at the bars? Do you have access to a lab and making this next weekend?
Let us know what you think in the comments!
In Behind the Drink, we'll make sure you are properly educated before you hit the town and even if you're not really into the bar scene, our drinks expert host and professional bartenders will whip you up some recipes and tricks for kicking back with some fancy cocktails at home. Preferably while in a tux watching classic Bond movies and/or reruns of Mad Men.
