Woman Files Complaint After Receiving 'Happy Birthday' Text
A woman in Murfreesboro, Tennessee took offense to a text from an acquaintance. According to reports, the message was simply a Happy Birthday wish for the woman’s daughter.
Most folks will agree it is polite and even friendly to send a message when somebody's birthday rolls around. However a woman in Murfreesboro, Tennessee took offense to a text from an acquaintance.
According to reports, the message was simply a Happy Birthday wish for the woman’s daughter. The lady was so upset over the text, she went to the local police station to file a complaint.
The worried mom believed the message was a form of harassment. According to the officer who dealt with the grievance, the unidentified lady the unidentified lady thought the texter “was being offensive with this comment”.
Although what happened after the text was received isn’t exactly clear, the woman and the acquaintance got into a disagreement, either through a verbal phone conversation or typed messages. At some point, the acquaintance reportedly made it known they could meet face to face and handle the disagreement in person.
Given that no assault was reported and harassment evidence was not presented, police could not charge the sender of the message with any crime or misdemeanor.
