The prohibition went into effect on a recent Sunday which is the same date when the vast amount of cars were hauled away. The measure, which runs from December first to April 1st is part of an annual effort to keep the roads clear for snow plows.
Those who were towed are not only angry about having to shell out upwards of $150 to get their vehicles back right before Christmas, but they’re also upset because there was no snow, ice or anything else that would require a clean up on the ground at the time of the incidents.
The ban pertains to about 107 miles of arterial streets.
Those who violate it face a towing charge of at least $150 along with a $60 ticket and possible storage fees if the vehicle is kept at the tow yard.
