1993-1995 Mazda 626 2.0L automatic / MX-6 2.0L automatic / Ford Probe 2.0L automatic EEC-IV diagnostic system. This is different than OBD-I. A full writeup on how to check codes for EEC-IV is available on the Mazda626.net forum.

For EEC-IV a repeating code of 3 long flashes is Code 111 Engine OK for hard fault codes. Then waits 6-9 seconds and presents a single separator flash. Then it will spit out all the codes in memory which is another set of 111 meaning Engine OK no memory codes. This is the best case scenario! Now you can proceed to do a KOER test which I will cover in another video.
The KOEO test for 111+111 might easily be confused for code #33 (EGR fault). Real codes are flashed much faster. Only 111 is flashed slowly when everything is good. For cars made prior to 1991 you might have only 2 digits codes so 11 is the same as 111. Mine is a 1995 so I only have 3 digit codes.
