Hiranyakashyapu is dead. His wife Kayatu also wants to burn herself in the fire. Prahlad calls it a suicide and convinces her that her duty towards the living still remains rather than towards the dead. After last rites to Hiranyakashyapu, Prahlad goes with his mother and sets gods free and also returns heaven to them. God Vishnu promises Mother Laxmi that He will never take any such form which would terify Her.
