PRESENTED BY CROW

Keyboardist, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Rachel Solomon has been making a name for herself since her arrival in Nashville, TN, rapidly becoming part of the music scene's new wave of in-demand live and studio players and gaining notoriety as an artist/songwriter to listen for. She released her debut solo record in January of 2013 entitled Love Ourselves, a personal exposition of love, loss, longing, and personal and spiritual growth. She describes it best as a little bit Beatles, a little bit Billy Joel (Rachel's Berklee songwriting professor penned her "The Female Billy Joel"), a little bit Carole King, a little bit Bonnie Raitt (Raitt's guitarist George Marinelli played on the record), and of course -- 100% Rachel Solomon.

Born a Yankee, raised a southwesterner, reared in the "Live Music Capital" that is Austin, TX, and schooled at the world-renowned Berklee College of Music, Rachel's background is as diverse as her talents are. She comes from a roving music pedigree as the daughter of Andy Solomon, keyboard player for Ted Nugent's early psychedelic endeavor The Amboy Dukes, and he passed along skills of both keyboard and saxophone to a young Rachel. Rachel spent a large portion of what should have been her rebellious teenage years winning classical piano competitions, sitting 1st chair alto saxophonist in theTexas All-State Band, and playing out with local Austin mainstay band The Alice Rose.

After three years at Berklee in Boston, this ultra-talented young musician was offered the job as the keyboardist and background vocalist for the widely popular all-female country/rock group Mustang Sally. Rachel quickly packed up and flew herself and her keyboard down to Nashville to go on the road with the band. The group played over 200 hundred shows a year and traveled everywhere from all over North America to Korea, Japan and Switzerland. During the time Rachel spent with Mustang Sally, the band was signed to Mobile, AL indie label Global Music Group and released the self-titled debut album, Mustang Sally.

Most recently, Rachel has been playing and collaborating with notable names such as Heidi Newfield, Adam Hood, and mega-hit songwriters Tia Sillers and Mark Selby. In addition, the song "Peter and Gladys", which Rachel wrote with fellow Berklee alumnus Kyle James Hauer, was featured in Season 4 of MTV's "16 and Pregnant". Rachel has also been asked to be a part of and often be musical director for many of Carnival Music Publishing's various live and studio productions.
