Typically, someone enters a church to pray or confess a sin. Well, one family reportedly decided to walk into a church with the intent to commit a crime.

According to police, three relatives from Slidell, Louisiana burglarized a local church not once but twice. They later sold their acquired goods at a garage sale.

A law enforcement spokesman says the pastor of the church originally contacted authorities on September 13th to report that the building had been broken into. The thieves were able to swipe coolers, electronic equipment and generators.

Three days after the first report was filed, the pastor called yet again, claiming the church had been burglarized a second time. An investigation was immediately launched into the incidents.

That’s when detectives received a tip about a garage sale being held in the same neighborhood as the church. Cops went to the scene and noticed many of the same items that had been stolen from the church were sitting on the family’s front lawn for sale.

The relatives, a couple and their adult daughter admitted to the crimes during a police interrogation. The mother and daughter reportedly burglarized the church while the dad waited in a getaway car.
