Out of shape criminals should definitely consider retirement.

48-year-old Eric Williams has been accused of stealing bags of peeled crawfish tails from a grocery store in Thibodaux, Louisiana.

Although the nature of the crime was bizarre, it got even stranger when Williams ran from the scene and headed towards his truck. He was so winded from running that he could not initially blow into the ignition interlock device to start his vehicle. The device was placed on his vehicle due to a previous DWI conviction.

Making the situation even more comical, store employees stood outside, laughing and taking pictures along with videos as Williams tried to get the truck to start. They loudly urged the out-of-shape Williams to give up and come inside the supermarket.

Eventually Williams was able to start his vehicle and flee the scene. However due to the captured footage by store workers, police easily caught up with the suspect.

As an excuse, Williams told officers he could not have committed the crime because he had been working until 4:30 pm. However the arresting cops noted it was not yet 4:30pm and he was charged with Theft of Goods.
