Simon Cowell's Syco Entertainment and FremantleMedia will soon be launching a Got Talent format show in Afghanistan.

We mostly get to hear stories related to violence from Afghanistan.

On a happier note, Simon Cowell's Syco Entertainment and FremantleMedia will soon be launching a Got Talent format show in Afghanistan. Slated to begin in 2013, the program will reportedly air on the channel, 1TV Media.

The newest edition will be the 55th local adaptation. According to a source close to the show “Simon has always believed Got Talent can work anywhere, because - no matter where you are - people have amazing talents. There may be a war raging in Afghanistan - but people are still living their lives and they enjoy watching TV just like anyone else.”

America’s Got Talent is the longest running local version, as it is currently in its eighth season.

Thus far, FremantleMedia International has sold rights to the America's Got Talent series to 180 different countries across the globe.

Earlier in 2013, editions of the show launched in both Brazil and Kazakhstan.
