Two inseparable canine friends are now in need of a home. A 3-year-old Chihuahua-Dachshund mix, Tinker and her slightly younger mix-breed pal named Gigi were adopted together by an elderly woman.

Tinker’s original owner took the pooch to the vet to have her euthanized following her birth because she is blind. The breeder thought she wouldn’t sell.

The soft-hearted veterinarian found an elderly woman to take Tinker in along with the other dog, Gigi. Eva Reynolds from an animal shelter in Mexia, Texas stated “From the time she was a tiny puppy, Gigi started being a guide dog for Tinker. And she would pick a toy and go touch Tinker’s face with it and they would play with the toy together.”

Gigi would lead Tinker back to the house when she got lost. Essentially, she trained herself how to direct Tinker.

The older lady who adopted the two dogs is now in a nursing home and the pooches have lived in the same shelter for a year. Tinker and Gigi are up for adoption, but they have to go to the same home together.
