Celebrating the best women filmmakers from around the globe, Birds Eye View will again be screening world-class films from world-class talent, with events taking place at the BFI Southbank, ICA, The Gate cinema (Notting Hill), and Picturehouse Cinemas across the UK on International Women's Day (March 8th).
The Birds Eye View Film Festival 2009 brings a stellar line-up of fantastic and fascinating cinema made by UK and International women filmmakers;from the top US indie films of ’08 and UK premieres including Cannes Critics Week winner to inspirational new work from Afghan women filmmakers, via premieres of European arthouse gems and a trek around Nigerian Nollywood.
Our exclusive Retrospective Strand Screen Seductresses: Vamps, Vixens and Femmes Fatales - the largest season of femme fatales ever to hit the BFI Southbank and we’ve once again commissioned cutting edge female musicians to accompany all five silent Vamp films.
Plus special events, one-off live music events, hot debate, moving image innovation, an introduction to Nollywood, fashion films, training workshops, parties and much, much more
