00:00Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in the country a while ago and President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. welcomed him warmly in Malacanang.
00:10With the help of the two leaders, Zelensky expressed his gratitude for the continued support of the Philippines to their country.
00:18Zelensky also wanted the Philippine Embassy to open and strengthen the cooperation of the two countries.

01:15At the bilateral meeting between President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and President Zelensky, the diplomatic ties between the Philippines and Ukraine will be strengthened for more than 30 years.
01:24The Ukrainian President also thanked President Marcos for the support of the Philippines to his country.
01:55President Marcos also expressed his support for the issues affecting European countries.
02:05Mr. President, I'm happy to hear today from you that you participate our peace steps.
02:12Steps to the peace, the real thing what really want our people just to bring peace to our homes.
02:26And thank you for participation of peace summit.
02:29The peace summit is a very strong signal. Like I said, we have for today more than 100 countries.
02:36I think it will be maybe not the last again but the first very strong step on the way to peace.
02:48The Ukrainian government plans to open their embassy in Manila this year.
02:52For President Marcos, it will mean the continued assistance of the Philippines to Ukraine.
02:57I know that the crisis in your country has occupied all of your attention and all of your time.
03:05And it is a great pleasure to meet with you to discuss some of the issues that are common to our two countries.
03:14And hopefully find ways forward for both of us together.
03:19President Marcos also shared that there is no brotherhood between the Philippines and the international rules-based order.
03:26But once again, I wish it were under better circumstances.
03:31But I am happy that you are able to come and visit with us, Mr. President.
03:37Meanwhile, President Zelensky also asked President Marcos to send Filipino mental health workers to Ukraine
03:44to help the refugees, especially the soldiers in the middle of the crisis in their country.
03:50President Marcos also emphasized that the Philippines is known for providing quality healthcare
03:55that is part of the promise of the country to the United Nations.
03:58He promised to help the Philippines to the civilians and innocents who are involved in the war.
04:04April 7, 1992, when the diplomatic ties between the Philippines and Ukraine were established.
04:10In 2022, Ukraine became the 90th trading partner of the Philippines.
04:15Previously, there were 200 Filipinos in Ukraine.
04:17But due to the ongoing Ukraine-Russia crisis, only 20 Filipinos are in Ukraine now.
