00:00 The first season of the Liga Baseball Philippines in Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium was held in Walong Kupunaan.

00:11 The Liga Baseball Philippines started off successfully,

00:20 where eight teams gathered on Saturday in Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium to host the tournament.

00:28 The team included PK Holding Standards, Katiama Baseball Association of KBA, IPPC, Dumaguete Uni Bikers and many more.

00:37 For LBP President Pepe Munoz, their success in the Liga is a testament to the support of the Filipinos in baseball.

00:48 We're very happy that we can play baseball today and this is the start of the season.

00:54 I hope this continues. It's very important that we play more games.

00:59 Our players are lacking in their game. So this is their opportunity.

01:04 In the first game, the Thunders did not give up on Dumaguete,

01:08 after Kupunaan won the game that ended with 11-0.

01:13 I think they only had one hit.

01:15 Our defense was good. On top of it all, the hitting of the whole team was good.

01:21 It's a happy story for us because it's the first win of the tournament.

01:27 The Samurai and Baseball teams, IPPC, faced each other in the second game,

01:31 where both teams' scores were tied.

01:34 But the Samurai won the single round robin elimination that ended with a score of 13-8, according to LBP Chairman Amando Zamora.

01:43 Although they faced challenges at the start of the pilot tournament,

01:47 he insisted that they will not stop discovering new and talented baseball athletes in the country.

01:53 He also said that the game will be more exciting in the coming weeks.

01:57 There are more challenges. It's more exciting to succeed.

02:11 LBP added that they plan to strengthen the next season of the tournament,
