This movie presents how to navigate on the Geohazards Exploitation Platform. It shows interferograms which are results of the DLR High-Resolution InSAR Browse, which is a systematic service on GEP, reserved to registered users. In addition GEP also offers a Medium-Resolution InSAR Browse which is publicly available.
La Reunion is an island in the Indian Ocean in front of Madagascar. It hosts the active volcano Piton de la Fournaise which continued to erupt in February 2017. Piton de la Fournaise is one of the targets of ESA's VO-2 Trial Case and therefore Sentinel-1 acquisitions are processed systematically. The interferograms in the period between January 20th and February 2nd 2017 show clearly fringes caused by deformation in the pre-eruption phase.
